One of my favorite days of the entire year is Admitted Student Day (ASD). This year, the event falls on April 2nd 2016. As one of the Counselors here at Grove City College (GCC), it is truly a blessing to be able to look around and see a number of students that I have had the pleasure to interact with back on our campus, all in the name of pursuing the calling the Lord has on their life.
ASD is one of the most experiential days on our campus. When students come to ASD, they truly get to immerse themselves in life at Grove City College. o students about Student Life at Grove City College, sharing some of their favorite moments as well as offering insider advice on the transition to living on our campus. Students will have the opportunity to attend a mixer with members of our Orientation Board, the same current students who have been working all year to plan your orientation week in August. Not only will you get to interact with current students but you will have the chance to interact with your peers who have already made their final decision or who are are still in that process of trying to decide where to attend.
Everyone in attendance will have the opportunity to hear from our renowned Career Services Office (CSO). They will outline their 4-step plan, including how to find internships as a student.
The CSO has numerous tools to help students find their vocational calling and this panel will explain many of them. Students will also have the opportunity to get a taste of what classes are like by observing two classes taught by our faculty.
Another very valuable part of the day is the Parent track. Parents will have the opportunity to hear about student life from the perspective of the Vice President of Student Life. There will also be a panel of parents of current students and alum that will address many of the common concerns that parents have for their student’s transition to GCC.
I have heard many stories of students who got clarity about their college decision because of Admitted Student Day.

I attended Admitted Students Day simply to make sure I didn’t want to go to Grove. To my surprise, I came out of the day knowing that Grove City was where I wanted to spend the next four years. The events that day really showed me what a wonderful school Grove City was. I initially had a lot of misconceptions about the school, but an admissions counselor I spoke with that day cleared up all of my concerns and questions. That conversation is what really helped me make my decision to attend Grove. Through my experiences that day, I believe God showed me that Grove was the place for me. I really encourage all admitted students to attend Admitted Students Day, especially those who aren’t sure where they want to attend school. Two years later, Grove City has become my second home, and I have Admitted Students Day to thank for that.”
